Law of Attraction: Maintaining Inner Peace During These Crazy Times

Morning all! Sorry for the lack of posts these last two weeks. I've been involved in another project that has needed all my attention but I should be back to posting daily very soon.

So today's question is "How on Earth do I stay positive when it seems the entire world (or at least this country) is falling apart?" As I mentioned in my last post energy is moving extremely quickly at this moment in Earth's time.

When things are going to change -- they are really going to change. Now at first this may seem a little scary but the first thing to remember is "It is not good, it is not bad…it simply is"

No one is being punished here, there is no one "up there" causing this to happen to teach people a lesson (I've come across that opinion a few times on the net, so I figured I would address it here). It is simply unbiased energy moving faster and stronger than ever and whatever comes across its path is going to fly!

Think of it like the rapids of a river. The water isn't moving quickly to intentionally hurt anyone or to help anyone. It is just simply moving. How a person chooses to use that strong current is up to them.

So how are you going to use this latest current surge?

Just a quick example. While so many people have been bailing out of the stock market left and right, Warren Buffet, the most successful men to ever conquer Wall Street, invested 8 billion dollars in General Electric and Goldman Sachs. In other words, Mr. Buffet knows. He knows to look for the opportunity that exists in every situation and to flow with it - not against it. And because of that attitude he will probably make quite a few billion dollars more when the market turns around.

So what about you? There is no better time for you to practice your creative abilities than this time right now. Look at it this way, if you can master attraction while all this craziness is going on - then nothing in this world will ever be able to stop you! And if you can maintain inner calm for yourself while all this craziness is going on - you will have become a master. Think of it as jamming 4 years of college into one semester.

So the first thing we will address is how you can maintain inner peace.

1. Practice Detachment - This is for anyone who has been dealing with intense fear or frustration due to the current circumstances. Simply remove your "self" from the situation emotionally and become an unaffected bystander on the sidelines. Mentally take a step back and watch everything from a detached point of view. When reading the newspaper, watching the news, or hear people discussing the doom of the world in their conversations simply observe as an interested spectator knowing that none of this effects you personally and you are just watching because you curious about what the outcome is going to be. This is simply a temporary measure to use until you catch your breath and are ready to get back into the game, but it can be very effective if you have been on negative emotional overload lately.

2. Meditate. No more excuses! There is absolutely nothing more important than getting in touch with your higher self right now. Nothing!! Doing it once a day is probably not even enough if you have been caught up in an emotional roller coaster as of late. Give yourself at least two different 15 minute sessions a day. Find someplace quiet, sit comfortably, and close your eyes. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. It might take awhile for your inner chatter to stop but just focus on the blackness behind your eyelids and the soothing feel of your breathing. As thoughts come in, let them gently pass through uninhibited and refocus your attention back on the safe soothing black color. If you feel the need to replace your chatter simply keep saying to yourself "I am safe here, I am calm here" as you breathe in and out. You might even start to feel that "safe place" in your chest area open up. You will be amazed at how much better you will feel when you open your eyes 15 minutes later.

3. EFT your biggest fears away. I have discussed EFT (The Emotional Freedom Technique) in the past. (If you would like to find out how to do it - see this post.) If you have been under stress for any length of time there is a good chance it might have gotten stuck in your physical body's electrical system. It is a good idea to clean this out every once in awhile. Simply focus on your biggest fears at the moment and tap them out. Such as "Even though I am afraid about my current money situation, I love and accept myself completely" "Even though I am afraid about who is going to win the election, I love and accept myself completely" "Even though I am scared about what is happening to my retirement account…", etc.

4. Appreciation List. I put this one fourth on the list because it is very important to do the steps above first to get into a better mind set. But just because it is fourth does not mean it isn't just as important to do. After detaching, meditating and EFTing, get out a piece of paper and write down every single thing you can appreciate in your life right NOW. Be it fresh water to drink, food to eat for today, a roof over your head today, the clothes that you are wearing, your health, your families health. If the negatives try to pop in - let them pop right out again and focus on all the good things you have in your life this minute. Be thankful for the computer that you are reading this on. Be grateful for electricity, the internet, etc.

Remember the flow of those rapids. Whatever direction you focus on, is the way your future moments are going to flow. By purposely redirecting your thoughts to what you appreciate, more will be brought to you for you to appreciate. Notice all of it. Be grateful for it and keep saying "Thank you Universe and more of that please" if you even find so much as a penny on the ground to pick up. Go with the current of good intentions - not against it.

5. Mental Distraction. Get away from the newspapers, the television news and the negative conversations as often as possible.

While I understand that it is important to stay informed during these crazy days it helps no one, especially yourself, to immerse yourself in misery.

As most of you know I am not a big fan of the media and haven't been for years due to their negative slants on the news and the sensationalism to sell more papers and ads. They have gotten completely out of control, especially lately. So do yourself a favor and watch as little of it as possible. Read the first few pages of the paper, watch one news show if you absolutely must, but then turn it off and turn to something enjoyable.

Now, there are some people who criticize that approach as being irresponsible. It is, in fact, just the opposite. It isn't difficult to see how negativity simply breeds more negativity. You can plainly see for yourself judging by yesterdays drop in the market how instilling more fear and more panic into the public is simply going to have a more negative effect on everything.

There is no benefit to staying in anger and fear!! Some people like to say that it is those emotions that inspire change. Bull! Positive thinking, positive energy and a new plan of action can inspire those changes ten times faster.

Are there problems right now in our country? Yes there are. Have mistakes been made? Sure - there is no denying that. But how is being angry, frustrated or keeping our focus on who is to blame helping the situation?

Our job, as the enlightened beings that we are, is to simply focus on where we stand right now at this moment and consciously decide where we want to go. Regardless of which candidate or political party wins this election, our focus needs to be on the healing and the uplifting of our country.

Take this fantasy for example. (Please NOTE: This is no way expresses my political opinions in any way - this is simply hypothetical).

Imagine if you would, that tomorrow was USA Appreciation Day. Imagine if every one of us woke up with nothing but appreciation for what this country offers for one whole day. Imagine if every conversation you had with people all day long was about the awesome opportunities that exist to make millions of dollars here. How a simple video on Youtube or a best selling book can make someone an instant success. How regardless of your race, creed or color you can be anything you choose to be. What if we discussed the awesome freedom we have to travel across this country to any state with no borders any time we simply felt like it? If we discussed all the different options we had for healthcare or the thousands of different options we had of food to eat within a mile of our homes?

What if we talked about how grateful we were for the electricity we all had access to, the heat, the fresh water, the paved roads to get us wherever we wanted to go? What if every news show and newspaper talked about how many people were healed of their illnesses, how many nice things people had done for other people, how many triumphs so many people had experienced that day? The company who happily got that new contract, that hard working person who won that award, the person who found out their new book was a best seller?

Just imagine where the stock market would go that day!! Just imagine how good every person in the country would feel that day just listening to one positive message after another? Is that not a country you would love to invest in when exposed to those kinds of positives all day long?!

Now look at what we are actually exposed to every day. Is it any wonder moral is down?

But that is neither here nor there. The fact is, that we all have to start somewhere. And the only person you could start with is you! So purposely go out of your way to make yourself feel better. Go find a funny website to enjoy, watch a comedy, read a good book, play a board game with your kids, write your own appreciation list for this awesome country. Get your friends and family members involved as well if they are willing.

Being negative cannot attract positive results. It is the LAW! The Law of Attraction. And this is not some abstract idea that you have to convince yourself of - the evidence stands right before you as you watch what is going on in the world day after day.

So start with you. Distract and remove yourself from the negativity. It is the only way you can create the life you desire.

6. Remember Who You Really Are. This is probably the most important point of all. Remember that you are a Spiritual Being simply having a human experience. This situation is merely temporary and will change like all situations do. One day it will just be a memory you will look back on.

Do not forget how powerful you really are! Remember to hold that little Earth globe in your hand and look down on it with love remembering your true immenseness in comparison to it. This current situation is nothing compared to how big you are. Merely a blip on the screen of one of your many physical lives. You can not only handle it, you can create it to be whatever you choose to. The attractive power is all in your hands!

Law of Attraction Manifestation Exercise #28 - Mastering The Art of Allowing

One of the hardest concepts to deal with when it comes to the Law of Attraction is the part about allowing. We are told that we are supposed to state our desires, believe that they are being brought to us then step aside and "allow" it to happen. But as you have probably seen for yourself this can sometimes be extremely hard to do.

It is hard to stop "wanting" something when you really want it. But the paradox here is that just the act of "wanting" infers to the Universe that you do not have it yet. Which thereby keeps it from you.

It can be so frustrating…I know!

The simple fact is: Allowing Takes Practice.

Most of us have never learned how to simply allow. Our whole lives we've been taught to work harder, fight harder, be better, improve ourselves, change things when we don't like them, take some kind of action.

And while in some instances we should do some of those things, it has become such a habit that we now don't know how to turn if off. It's like having your fingers in one of those Chinese handcuffs toys. The harder you pull - the tighter it gets - meanwhile if we would just relax, it would release us easily.

Think about it. When was the last time you simply allowed something to simply BE without feeling you had to change it, improve it, fix it, or wish that it was something different?

So this exercise is very simple. For the next few days learn to "allow" everything in your life to simply just "be" what it is. Without anger, without criticism, without wishing it was something else.

For instance, your current job. What are your normal thoughts around it? Do you wish you were getting paid more, do your normally complain about the lack of recognition that you receive, wish you had a different boss or any of the other million things that you believe make it unsatisfactory?

What if, just for the next few days, you were to just "let the job be what it is" and not let any negative thoughts in about it?

What if when you woke up tomorrow morning you said to yourself "You know something? This job simply "is" and I don't have to get into it any deeper than that."

Can you feel the immense relief that comes with that? Can you feel the weight instantly fall off your shoulders that for even just the next few days you don't need to mentally struggle with your thoughts? You don't need to do anything, change anything, fight for anything or fix anything. For the next few days you can just let the job "be what it is" and that's it.

The same goes for your relationships. The relationship with your parents, your siblings, your friends, your spouse, your children, your boss. For the next few days, simply allow the relationships to "simply be what they are." Drop the inner struggle. Stop worrying about not being close enough, or understanding each other more, or having to do anything to want to fix or improve the relationship. Relieve yourself of the mental pressures you normally put on yourself about how you want things to be different and just let the relationship be "what it is."

Do the same for your money concerns, your physical appearance, chores that need to be accomplished that you normally don't want to do. Give yourself a mental break and simply accept that they "just are" and that is fine and there is nothing you need to do to change them.

This may be a lot harder than it sounds at first, but once you do it, you will actually feel the relief in your physical body. Your shoulders will relax, your chest will feel like it is opening a little, you will feel the tension ease from your neck.

Just let it all go.

After a few days of practicing this in all areas of your life, then you can go back and decide on what things you would like to tweak a little.

One at a time and with Universe's help!

So now decide on the thing you would like to change the most.

Write it down as a task for Universe to take care of. Such as:

"Universe I choose to create $10,000. I know you will effortlessly bring me tons of opportunities to do this and I will easily recognize these opportunities when they are in front of me. I will feel the call to follow these leads and I know it will be effortless. Thank you."

Then let it go and practice your "allowing" again.

Know that Universe is now working in the background bringing this to fruition and the only thing you need to do is keep your eyes open for the opportunities that are going to present themselves to you.

Remember there does not need to be a mental fight or struggle in this. As a matter of fact it is just the opposite. The more relaxed you are and the less resistance you have, the quicker it is delivered.

As for the other things going on in your life - just let them be until it is time to make a request to Universe to change them as well.

Life in not meant to be the struggle most of us make it. Allowing takes practice, but when you have mastered it, you find yourself feeling much more relaxed and satisfied. The dissatisfaction you constantly feel is simply the resistance you create to what "is". If you learn to live without judging everything in your life as good or bad - if you learn to simply just "be" and learn to accept things just as they "simply are" you will release the resistance that has been holding you back from getting what you want.

What is EFT and Does It Work?

When I first heard about EFT (The Emotional Freedom Technique) a few years ago, I was a little skeptical. The idea of being able to “tap-out” negative energy seemed a little too far fetched even to me, who is pretty much open to trying any spiritual practice at least once.

But not wanting to dismiss anything out of hand, I decided to give it a try. Six years later I am still using the technique for everything from a headache to any kind of fear that might occasionally arise.

It is an amazingly simple process that works wonders on anything from physical pain to fears and phobias to simply helping one to break a bad habit. It can even help you with weight loss, feelings about lack of money, sports performance or relationship issues.

The founder of the technique, Gary Craig, explains the process of EFT as based on “a new discovery regarding the body's subtle energies. Simply stated, it is an emotional version of acupuncture, except needles aren't necessary. Instead, you stimulate well established energy meridian points on your body by tapping on them with your fingertips. The process is easy to memorize and is portable so you can do it anywhere.”

In a typical session there are 8 different meridian points on your body that need to be tapped while you mentally address whatever your issue might be.

So a typical session would go something like this.

Say your issue is a fear of driving over bridges. You have had this fear for awhile. Every time you have ever gone over a bridge you can feel yourself tense up, you hold your breath, your heart feels like it leaps into your throat. So this is the issue you will obviously want to be healing.

So the first question you ask yourself is on a scale of 1 to 10 how much negative energy do I feel around this subject? Say your answer is 8. So now you create a statement for yourself such as “Even though I have this intense fear of driving over bridges, I completely love and accept myself.” (There are different end phrases you can use but I have found “I completely love and accept myself” at the end of statements work surprisingly well regardless of what you are trying to fix.)

As you keep repeating your sentence again and again you will tap on the 8 places described on the EFT video or website (more information on that later). You will do these series of taps through 2 cycles.

Then you are to re-ask yourself the original question. On a scale of 1 to 10 how much fear do I feel around this subject? You will be absolutely amazed at how much your fear level will have decreased. And I am not talking about a “Yeah, well maybe there is a little difference,” I am talking about a major “Holy Canoli! I cannot believe that this worked!” kind of feeling.

The only trick (if you want to call it that) is finding exactly what the “blockage” is.

For instance when I first heard about this technique my biggest problem at the time was creating money. So I ran through a whole bunch of statements regarding money. Such as:

Even though I don’t have a lot of money right now, I love and accept myself completely. (I felt a little better.)
Even though I haven’t done as well financially as I expected to yet, I love and accept myself completely ( I felt a little more relief)

I went through a bunch more. But then I hit on the big one.

“Even though I don’t think I am deserving of a lot of money, I love and accept myself completely.” All of a sudden, I felt like a 20 pound weight had been lifted off my chest! As in physically lifted off of me! I was stunned because I hadn‘t expected a feeling like that at all. It suddenly felt as if my chest has opened up and expanded!

You see, I didn’t even know that feeling “deserving” was one of the things holding me back from making money. I was just following advice I had found at the EFT website.

In looking back now, I can see many ways I might have unconsciously picked up that vibration in my lifetime and how somehow that idea had gotten trapped up inside of me.

By tapping on those physical release points I hit it dead on and the feeling was let go immediately.

It was my first experience of going from an 8 in anxiety down to a 0 in a matter of seconds.

I was so excited I started immediately tapping out other things. My fear of driving at the time, anxiety about unpaid bills, lack of self esteem, a constant nagging stomach pain, that I had. And I was able to bring relief to all those areas (though admittedly not as quickly or as dramatically as the money one) but with another round or two of tapping was able to eliminate them.

The greatest things about this exercise is:

1. You can do it yourself so you do not need help from others (though there are trained people who can help you take it to a deeper level if you desire)
2. It is free and easy to learn! You can be doing it for yourself in as little as 10 minutes
3. You can do it anywhere - because it even works if you do it mentally. (Because of coarse there may be times when tapping yourself in public would look a little strange)
4. You can even use it to help others. My young son was amazed when I did it on him to get rid of a headache. He thought it was like "magic". (The downside is he now asks me to do it in lieu of taking medicine for the bigger things. Sorry buddy - but nice try!)
5. It also works in ways and on issues you have never even considered.

The following video is one is one of many that can be found on YouTube. This first one explains EFT in more detail and the different ways you can use it and why.

Or if you would just like to jump right to the technique see this video:

">

Also be sure to visit this site. It is a link to the original EFT site that has tons of different ways you can use it and even gives you the different sentences you should try when applying the process.

Again, if you look around a little you will see ways to deal with:

Quitting Smoking (or other bad habits)
Fear of bills or Lack of Money
Anger at Loved Ones
Physical Pains
Major Fears or Traumas

So many people contribute to this site with excellent ideas they have tried.

So give it a shot today! You might find like I did that you will end up using it all the time for instant relief!

Using The Law of Attraction To Get A Better Nights Sleep

Are you having a hard time falling or staying asleep at night? If so, using the Law of Attraction can help you immensely. Now I'm going to need you to bear with me for a few moments as we quickly run through some obvious physical reasons that you might be having a problem. After all, if it is a quick and easy fix, we might as well give them a shot, right?

Beware of sneaky stimulants. While most of us are aware of the caffeine products we should avoid before going to sleep, quite often we overlook some of the less obvious items that can affect our sleep without even realizing it.

For instance, there is the obvious coffee or soda, but did you know that chocolate, cake, ice cream and certain cookies have enough sugar in them to affect your sleep as well? There are even some fruits that have enough natural sugar in them that can also keep you awake.

If you are having a harder time falling asleep than usual - review what you have been eating before going to bed lately. If you have been on an ice cream or cookie kick for the last few weeks before bed and have been having trouble sleeping for the same amount of time, there could be your simple connection.

Drinking Alcohol - So you are going through a particularly rough time and might enjoy a few drinks when you come home at night. But then you don't sleep very well. So the next day you are even crankier and enjoy another few drinks when you get home to try to make yourself feel better. But then you don't sleep very well again. It seems like a vicious circle but the truth is - it could be the alcohol itself that is causing your sleep deprivation.

It has been discovered that while alcohol might help you fall asleep initially, it appears to disrupt the second half of your sleep cycle. So you will wake during the night with all sorts of weird dreams or you toss and turn and have a hard time getting back to sleep again.

Think about trying a different soothing ritual before bedtime if it is that "calming" effect you seek. Switch to a decaffeinated herbal tea and a couple of sugarfree cookies. When you consume them before bed think of that as your way of unwinding at the end of a hectic day. You will see an amazing difference in not only your quantity but quality of sleep.

Exercise. You have probably heard this before but exercising even a couple of hours before bedtime can sometimes affect your falling asleep. Your blood is pumping, the energy is flowing - is it any wonder your body might have a hard time slowing itself down? You should even beware of certain kinds of yoga. While some practices are great for winding down, some might have the opposite affect.

O.K. - now that we have gotten some of the possible physical causes out of the way let's work on the mental.

Do not label yourself as having any kind of sleeping problem. You would be amazed at how what could be just a temporary problem could last a lot longer by how you think or label it. Do not think or say things like "I just can't sleep, I have insomnia, I suffer from insomnia, I constantly wake up, I never get enough sleep, I am always tired etc." By putting these kinds of thoughts and statements out there you are just attracting more of it. Do not give the situation more attention or worry than it deserves. It is simply temporary - do not make it a fact by bringing more attention to the problem.

Not falling asleep because you are worried about not falling asleep. We have all been there. You only have a few hours to sleep and when you can't fall asleep you become worried about how much time you have left to sleep and on and on it goes.

While it is true that the average person usually requires 7 to 8 hours of sleep at night it is by no means true for everyone. For instance, Donald Trump only sleeps 4 hours a night and that is more than enough for him. Another fact to consider is that you don't need to have a full 8 hours of sleep every night. I have had nights when I only had 2 or 3 hours of sleep the night before and ran around the next day with more energy than usual. The trick is to not mentally brainwash yourself into thinking that "you are going to have to be tired" the next day simply because you didn't get your full 8 hours.

Your body changes every day. So does your energy levels. Some days you may need more sleep - some days you might need less. It's like when you are hungry. Some days you can be hungry all day long - some days you barely think about food. Just go with the flow. Don't psyche yourself out mentally by thinking "Oh I only got 3 hours of sleep last night so it means I'll be dragging my tail all day" Who says? Don't give it any thought and just focus on doing your thing.

Calming the Panic Thoughts. One of the trickier problems to deal with. You either can't fall asleep because a problem is on your mind or you wake up in the middle of the night in a panic when a thought occurs to you. The first question to ask yourself is there anything you can do about it at that exact moment. Usually there isn't much you can do about any problem at 3:00 in the morning. If this is the case - tell yourself you will find a way to deal with it tomorrow or better yet, hand it over to the Universe to handle. Say to yourself "While I am doing my job of getting some sleep, Universe is doing its job of finding me an easy solution to this problem. I can't wait till tomorrow to see what it comes up with." You will be surprised how often a solution will present itself the next day. Just leave yourself open to the possibility.

Find at least one good thought to soothe yourself with in the middle of the night and focus on that thought when panic tries to set in. The Law of Attraction is all about taking control over your thoughts. The more you practice it, the better you get. You really do have control over what you think about. So if a panic thought tries to let itself in at the middle of the night - counteract it. Think about even one good thing you experienced the day before or plan on experiencing. Did you stick to your diet that day, get a compliment from your boss, get a call from that person you have a crush on? Did you meditate, take your vitamins, do you have something coming up that you are looking forward to? When a panic thought tries to worm it's way in, deliberately and consciously replace it with a better thought even if it is totally unrelated. It might seem difficult at first - but you really will get better at it with practice. If your thoughts keep trying to drift to the problem, keep bringing your thoughts back to the good thought. Again and again until it sticks.

Become bigger than the problem. You are currently on a spiritual quest. (I know this simply because you are reading this article.) Every day you are growing spiritually and every day you are gaining more control over your reality. Do not let yourself forget this. As you lay there in bed at night imagine that you are holding the Earth as a little globe in your hand and now sense your immenseness in comparison to it. This is how big you really are. You are a spiritual being having a human experience which means there is truly nothing on this planet that you cannot handle. In reality you are so much bigger than all of it. Truly feel your immenseness in relation to the problem and realize that in "reality" that problem is nothing more than a speck of dust you can simply blow away. This is a great mental exercise.

Do the muscle relaxation exercise. This is an awesome exercise you may have learned in gym class. It is simple, but can be very effective in getting yourself to sleep or back to sleep.

Start by lying flat on your back. Tense your feet as tightly as you can to a count of 8 then gently release the muscles also to a count of 8. Then feel as if your feet have simply "disappeared" into oblivion. Next do your calves. Tense, tense, tense as you count to 8, release, release, release as you count to 8 - until you feel them completely disappear. Then move up to your thighs, your butt, your stomach, your chest, arms, hands etc. Do this for your entire body. By the time you are done, you will feel as if you are floating or as if your body has completely disappeared. Now the only thing you will sense is your deep breathing. This exercise can work wonders for both your body and your mind. You will find it even works really well if you've had a nightmare, so give it a try.

Use affirmations or read something uplifting before even putting your head on the pillow. You can experience far more spiritual growth in your sleep than you ever can during your waking hours. For years I have purposely said affirmations or read particular spiritual concepts that I have wanted to absorb subconsciously and have found how much easier the ideas stick when I absorb them right before bedtime. So not only can this help distract you from your normal worries but it in fact also expedites your spiritual growth.

The most important thing to remember is do not make it a bigger issue of not sleeping than it is. Everyone experiences difficulty sleeping once in awhile - but it does not have to be pure torture. Be creative, if you find that no matter what you do you still can not sleep - then simply stop trying to force yourself. Get out of bed and use the time to do something useful or inspiring. Go write a grateful list, go add to your vision board - simply do something that makes you feel better.

Heck if you are not going to sleep anyway, might as well do something that inspires you!

Keep this up and you will be back to your normal sleeping patterns in no time.

Get Outta My Pie!

If you are a fan of Abraham-Hicks you may have heard them mention the idea of "getting out of someone else's pie" and focusing on your own.

Their basic premise behind the thought is that this Earth (actually the entire Universe for that matter) is like the most fully stocked kitchen that ever existed.

Every ingredient that can be had is available for each person to create whatever pie they are wanting.

Every person has the same access to each of these ingredients and each person is naturally entitled to all of these ingredients in any way they see fit.

No one is more or less entitled to these ingredients than anybody else.

All of these ingredients constantly replenish themselves so there is always enough for everyone - and sometimes even new ingredients are created "out of thin air" for the good of all to partake.

It is such a simple concept. So easy to understand. Now if we can only apply it to human nature.

You see, if you like Cherry pie - you are entitled to Cherry Pie simply because you desire it. You have all of the ingredients at your fingertips to make your Cherry pie, and it is none of anyone else's business if that is the pie you decide to create.

But now imagine that someone else (even a very close loved one) likes Pumpkin pie. And because they like Pumpkin pie, they think you should like Pumpkin Pie as well. And it doesn't matter to them if you don't like like the taste of it or have no desire for it. They like it and that is all that counts as far as they are concerned!

Imagine if that were an argument that were really to happen around your Thanksgiving table this year.

You would be tempted to throw that Pumpkin Pie right in their face.

"Good for you!" You would tell them. "You like Pumpkin pie! Eat all the pie you want! But no amount of yelling or browbeating is going to make me ever want it or like it so leave me alone and go eat your pie! I'm in the mood for Cherry!"

And there you go.

So simple…but not.

Does this sound familiar to you in your life? Do you constantly have others telling you what "pie" you should eat as if you don't know your own desires? Telling you that there is only one "pie" that is the right "pie" and that there must be something wrong with you if you don't agree with them?

When it comes to political discussions, religious beliefs, how to raise your children, where you live, your career, your dreams, your desires?

Do they make you feel guilty simply because you desire Cherry instead of Pumpkin? Who says that Pumpkin is the only way to go?

Now how about you? Do you find yourself trying to shove your "pie" down someone else's throat? Do you find yourself spending your days upset or uptight about the personal decisions that others are making, because you believe they are doing "it" wrong?

If so, it is time to get your fingers out of that person's pie and gently slap their fingers away from yours.

All the "ingredients" are available for everyone to use exactly as they see fit to create whatever they desire.

Also remember that every single ingredient you can ever need to create your fantasy dessert sits in directly in front of you now. You are as naturally entitled to them as anyone else.

So if you would like to live a more peaceful and easy going life - go into your "kitchen" and work on creating your own "dream pie" and let others do the same.

It is the instant recipe for more peace in your life.

Why It Is Not Selfish To Sever An Unhealthy Relationship

Did you ever have those times when you feel like you are just dealing with one "idiot" after another? First one person sets you off, then another and another and you feel like screaming "How can I possibly have so many nasty people in my life?"

Well I can give you the answer right now. It is all your fault.

Now, I realize that sounds harsh at first, but believe it or not…that really is a good thing.

Because it means you have absolute control over the people who participate in your life.

Just as you have drawn negative people to you in the past, you also have the ability to draw positive people in as well.

It is all a matter of what you are vibrating.

One of the most important philosophies in the Law of Attraction and/or Spiritual Development is the idea that the only person you should be concerned about is yourself. It is not your job to worry or attempt to change others.

Now at first this might seem like a very selfish notion, but let me explain why it really is in your best interest all the way around.

First of all, you cannot change who or what other people are, no matter how much you might want to.

You have to realize that what usually determines a person's behavior today are the tons of things they have experienced in the past…long before you were ever even in it.

If a person has had past experiences with others who have lied to them, cheated them or mistreated them, there is a very good chance that they are going to be mistrustful of people today.

So you may do something in complete innocence but due to their past experiences they will see it as a deliberate attack you have made on them.

Now, you know the truth. And you may even do your best to try and convince them otherwise. But if their mistrust runs that deep, nothing you say or do is going to change the way they feel.

So what can you do? Does it make sense for you to spend your time being miserable over it? Does it make sense for you to walk around angry at the unfairness of it all? Is it worth even one precious moment of your life suffering over something you can do nothing about?

Here is an example. One of my girlfriends was dating this guy that was really great. He was extremely nice, thoughtful, generous and caring. The only problem was, he was also extremely jealous. It seems that he had been cheated on in the past not just by one, but quite a few ex-girlfriends. Therefore in order to protect himself he was constantly suspicious of everything my girlfriend did. He called her ten times a day, wanted her to check in wherever she went, would show up unexpectedly at places she said she would be just to make sure she wasn't lying (though he did it under the guise of "missing her" or saying it was a "coincidence").

And I have to give my girlfriend credit. She put up with this behavior for quite a long time. She really liked this guy and she understood he had been hurt in the past. She figured that if she proved to him that she really was trustworthy, he would lighten up after awhile.

Unfortunately however, it seems his hurt ran far deeper then she realized,. Instead of getting better, he progressively got worse. He seemed to be convinced that the longer she was with him the more antsy she was going to get to want to be with someone else. It got to the point where she felt like she was in a prison and she finally had to break up with him. It's a shame too, because he really was a nice guy.

You see 99% of the time the way people feel has nothing to do with you. It has to do with past experiences they have had and the way they mentally and emotionally cataloged them.

But what you need to understand is that the Law of Attraction works like a chain reaction. By you "hanging in there" with the negative people in your life and putting up with all their "crap" you are also lowering your own vibration, thereby leaving yourself to attract…you guessed it…even more negative people.

Hence the reason you might feel as if you are completely bombarded with one "idiot" after another.

So while is might seem selfish at first, you must realize that your staying in any kind of painful relationship, be it with a spouse, someone you're dating, friend, co-worker or even family member, you are not doing either one of you any good.

You are not going to be able to change their vibration (only they can do that) and you are only lowering yours.

So the only thing you can do is start drawing your negative attention away from the person causing it and start focusing on the people who make you feel good.

Start making yourself feel better. Do things that make you happy. If this negative person normally calls you a couple of times a day to complain or nag or whatever, stop taking the calls. Or flat out be honest with them and tell them that you don't want to be negative anymore, and that unless they have something positive to say, you don't want to hear about it.

When you start focusing on the positive more often, some amazing things will begin to happen.

You will start to see the negative people in your life start to change or you will see them painlessly drift from your life.

Remember negative attracts negative. If you are not operating negatively, they are either going to have to change their vibration to meet yours, or they will naturally vibrate towards someone else negative who gives them what they are "looking for".

Either way it leaves the road clear for you to be happy. Which is really what it is all about.

So go be happy and attract the positive. The Law of Attraction will take care of the rest.

Happy Creating!

Meditation Reminder

This post is simply a reminder to meditate at some point in your day today.

I know sometimes it is tricky. Tricky to remember to do it, tricky to find time to do it, tricky to find a place to do it. And there are times when even you do accomplish the above that you find it tricky to quiet your mind.

But do not worry. With practice it gets easier. I found this quote while web surfing this morning. Really focus on the words.

Meditation has a few essential things in it, whatever the method,
but those few essentials are necessary in every method.
The first is a relaxed state: no fight with the mind,
no control over the mind, no concentration.
Second, just watch with a relaxed awareness
whatever is going on, without any interference
- just watching the mind, silently,
without any judgement, evaluation.
These are the three things:
relaxation, watching, no judgement.
Osho

As quoted by Wayne Dyer "You are not a human having a spiritual experience but a spiritual being having a human experience".

Meditation reminds you of this. Meditation brings you back to the real "you" and not the delusional physical body that your ego tells you that you are.

It is important to make that connection at least once a day. To remind yourself that almost everything around you is an illusion you have created, but that you are truly so much more than that.

If you make a conscious effort to remember that every day of your life, EVERYTHING else falls into place.

There is no struggle, anger, fear, anxiety, poverty, stress when you are your "higher" self.

You are timeless, ageless, formless, pure loving energy. There is not a single thing out of your control. You are always safe, you can never hurt, your are pure love and perfect energy. You are eternal and you are part of the one and only I AM..

So take some time to remember this today. Even if it is 15 minutes while you are on the bus going to work, or 15 minutes before you go to sleep tonight.

I have been working on putting together some excellent meditation techniques that work awesomely.

In the meantime however, take 15 minutes today to be still and silent. Breathe deeply from your diaphragm.

Breathe in to the count of 4, hold until the count of 4, breathe out to the count of 4, then be without breathe until the count of 4.

Try this a few times and see how it instantly relaxes you. This is a good place to start.

Until tomorrow,

Happy Creating!

You Can Never Get It Wrong And You Can Never Get It Done

“You can never get it wrong and you can never get it done.” - Abraham-Hicks

This is another great quote of Abraham-Hicks that really clicked for me the first time I heard it and it still does today.

The quote pretty much says it all. No matter what choices you make in your life, you can never get it "wrong" and no matter how many tasks you have accomplished you can never get it all "done".

Once you really get the true beauty of this quote you will be able to relax and maybe for the first time in your life just simply “be”.

Why You Can't Get It Wrong

It's important to realize that every decision that you make is the “right” one according to the time and the circumstances that you make it as well as the person you are in that moment. The only "mistake" that we make is when we attempt to look back and say to ourselves well if only I had done such and such things would be so different.

And yes they probably would be different, but it still doesn’t mean it was the choice you should have made at that moment.

As you have probably realized by now, everything “happens” for a reason. Every road we choose leads us to a new experience which births a new desire and that is exactly as it should be.

The problem begins if we find ourselves in circumstances that we are less than thrilled at and we make the mistake of looking back and saying “it is only due to this mistake that I am here now” as opposed to saying to ourselves “O.K. - This is where I am. Where do I want to go from here?“

For example, if you had a choice between two jobs. And you chose one that you eventually end up disliking. Do you make the mistake of saying “I knew I should have taken the other one!“ Well, my question to you is how do you know? There is obviously a “higher reason” you took this one, even if at the moment you are unaware of what it is.

So, instead of spending your time having regrets, figure out now what that reason is. Maybe you ended up making a life long friend out of a co-worker you wouldn‘t have met otherwise, maybe you will be making a connection with someone you will end up doing business with in the future, maybe you simply just needed to “kill some time here” as the perfect job is being set up for you and the day you decide to quit this one - the new perfect one will be ready.

If you start realizing that you can’t get it wrong, and start realizing there is no rule book that you are supposed to follow, you start to understand that where you are right now is exactly where you are supposed to be and the pressure is off. Which leads us to part 2 of the quote.

Why You Can Never Get It Done.

It is very simple. You don’t ever get it all done. The day you do not have a goal you would like to accomplish or a manifestation that you wish to create, is the day you are ready to leave this planet. But even then it is not done. Because even when you are in the non-physical you will be getting busy planning your next lifetime.

We are creative beings. We can only know all that we are capable of by every new creation we create. And as we accomplish one creation we just naturally birth a desire for a better and greater one. And that is what existence is all about and it goes on eternally.

We learn, we discover, we create which teaches us more to learn and discover and create.

So if that is the case…then where is your finish line? The answer: There simply isn’t one.

You have probably already noticed this for yourself. For years you have kept telling yourself things such as "when I accomplish this…then I will be happy." When you are in high school then you will be happy, when you graduate then you will be happy, when you are in college, then when you graduate, when you get your first job, then when you get your promotion, when you get married, then buy a house, then have kids, then have the kids old enough to be out of the house, when you retire…

If you keep waiting for all of these things to be accomplished in order for you to be happy…then you are completely missing it! Missing Life! Missing the joy of the process of creating! Missing some of the best moments of your life that I can promise you will look back some day on and wish you had appreciated more.

So start now! Appreciate now! Get excited when a new idea pops into your head. Love the process - the inspiration that comes as you go along creating. Even love the so-called mistakes that will then point you in the right direction. Don’t wait to be happy - be happy now! Remember…

"You can never get it wrong and you never get it done."

Manifestation Exercise #20 - Give Your Ego A Day Off And Manifest A Truly Peaceful Day

What if for just one single day you gave your ego the day off? That might sound a little crazy at first, but if you would like to experience what true peace feels like this is an exercise you should try.

It will not be easy, I assure you. You are about to find out how difficult it can be. But as with anything, with practice…you will get better.

So imagine this.

For one day you will not listen to your ego's nagging, criticism, or worry. For just for one day you are simply going to "be".

A good day to try this is on your day off from work when you will not have others trying to drag you back into "doing" constantly.

Choose a day when you have no specific plans. Believe it or not (regardless of what your ego tries to tell you) your world will not fall apart from taking a day off. Instead just the opposite will happen. You will actually discover and appreciate what life is really all about.

Just for this one day you are going to simply be. Your are not going to "think"..you are going to "appreciate". You are not going to "do" you are simply going to "experience".

Here Are Some Simple Steps:

1. Pay Extraordinary Attention To All Of Your Five Senses Today.

Sight - Really look around you today. Notice things you have never noticed before. How many beautiful trees are on your block, what kind of flowers someone is growing in their corner yard. How many different colors you can spot in one place. The different colors and styles of clothes that people are wearing, or the cars that they drive. Lay on the grass and look for shapes and pictures in the clouds like you used to when you were a child. Just watch.

Listen - Listen to sounds you normally do not pay attention to. Did you ever notice that normal passing cars can sound like ocean waves breaking on a beach if you imagine it hard enough? Listen for birds, crickets, cicadas. They are all there, even in the city, you just haven't noticed lately.

Feel - Appreciate the feel and texture of things today. Appreciate the softness of the fur on your pet. The smooth skin of your child, the feel of a silk blouse, or the warmth of the cup for your morning coffee or tea this morning.

Taste - Just for today eat whatever you want. Forget the calories your ego is trying to make you feel guilty about. As you are eating one of your favorite meals, eat slowly and appreciate very single bite. Roll it around your mouth. Enjoy the texture and the flavor. Anything from lobster to ice cream can be appreciated in this way. Instead of feeling any kind of guilt about food - make sure you enjoy every single bite, taste and smell of it. Food really can be such an enjoyable experience.

Smell - When was the last time you literally stopped and smelled the roses, or a blade of grass? Or burnt a candle in your home with your favorite scent? Or put on your favorite perfume or cologne just to appreciate it, instead of wearing it only on special occasions? Purposely take a whiff of baby powder and be reminded of when your little ones were young. Stand outside your house by the dryer vent and smell the fabric softener as your clothes dry. (That's always a crowd pleaser.)

2. Become invisible to others for just today.

How often do you worry about the way you look? Do you often "think" about what others are thinking when they look at you? Do you normally worry about what you are wearing, your weight, your hair color or if you have something in your teeth? Just for today pretend you are physically invisible. Get yourself dressed and showered and the minute you walk out the door - completely forget about what you look like. If your ego tries to get on your case - remind it that it has the day off - and today is your day to simply experience. You are invisible - so looks do not matter today.

3. Simply listen when others talk to you today.

Do you normally worry more about what your response is going to be than actually listening to what another person is actually saying? That is just your ego butting in again. It is looking for an intelligent response or searching its memory banks to attempt to "one up" someone else's story. Give it a break today. Simply listen, nod and really feel what the other person is trying to say. Don’t try and come back with anything witty or smart. Simply listen and give your full attention to the other person.

4. Watch children at play

Be it your own child or someone else's. Simply watch and appreciate how they live in the total NOW moment. Watch a child be fascinated with a sand box. Watch them laugh with glee in a swimming pool or running through a sprinkler. Watch them watch a bug. They are not worried about bills or gas prices. They are so totally in the moment. Appreciate how much calmer you would be if you consciously did that yourself for even a few hours a day.

5. Appreciate your pet or other animals.

If you have your own pet, notice today their absolute love and devotion to you. Appreciate what you bring to their lives as much as what they bring to yours. They too only exist in the now moment. Absolutely at peace with where they are. If you do not have a pet, notice the birds in the trees simply flying from one branch to another. Nothing else on their minds except what they feel like doing at the moment. We too can be this peaceful if we give our ego's time off once in awhile.

You see, life is happening all around you and you are missing it! We can all get so involved in our to-do lists we forget to simply BE. Which is really the only reason we are here in the first place.

Important Note: If your ego is arguing with you even at this moment that you don't have "time" to do this exercise for a day it is all the more reason why you NEED to do it.

It means your ego is already "out of control" and self inflated with its own importance. It is trying to brainwash you into believing that YOU can't do without it for even one day. If it is acting like your whole life is going to fall apart if even one day goes by without you doing "what you are supposed to" you can easily see who is really in control here and it is time to pull in the reins and let your higher-self take over.

Your life will not fall apart if you take a day off. As a matter of fact it is just the opposite. It will eventually fall apart if you do not.

Your mind and body can only take so much stress…so much negative thinking. This has been proven time and time again by others.

You deserve this! You work hard…too hard…all the time! It is time to give yourself some time off.

Make a conscious effort to truly enjoy life for one whole day. It is awesomely addicting! It is also the first step to learning how to do it a little more each day to make life truly more enjoyable.

How One Of The Best Things That Ever Happened To Me Was A Flood

Approximately two years ago we had a flood in our basement and storage room that was caused by a backed up sewer line. We didn't have an attic so this was where we kept all our "stuff".

When it first happened I was naturally very upset the first few hours. So much destroyed and gone, and because it was sewer water, pretty much nothing was salvageable unless it had been on a shelf.

After awhile however I started to see it as the blessing it really was.

As I have been becoming more open to the spiritual laws that govern our universe I have found myself trying much more often to look for the positive behind every negative. Sometime it is hard to find, it might even take a few weeks or months for the answer to become clear to me, but in this case it didn't take more than about 2 hours.

The truth was my basement and storage room was filled with "crap." Stuff I should have gotten rid of years ago. Now if you had asked me to empty those rooms the day before the flood I probably would have come up with a million reasons why I couldn't get rid of most of it. "That ugly turkey platter? Of coarse I need to keep that - who's knows when we might have a lot of people over and I will need to cook more than one bird?" (Really now! How often does anyone actually need to cook 2 turkeys at one time? Even if I did - I still wouldn't think of pulling out the ugly Turkey platter to serve it on!)

As we went through more and more stuff with our gloves and black garbage bags I realized how many ridiculous things I had kept for ridiculous reasons. The winter clothes that I put away five years ago that are completely out of style? My son's old skates that don't fit him anymore? The lamp from his nursery? So much of it I had kept for what I had labeled "sentimental reasons" but the truth was I could get just as sentimental over a picture of it! I didn't have to actually "hold" the item that was taking up so much space to remember it. I mean really what was I going to do? One moment of "Awwhh! Remember this?" and two seconds later put it back up on the shelf to take up more space again? I could just as soon look at a photograph of his nursery to get the same "Awwhh!" moment and it would take up less than a hundreth of the space!

As time went on I found myself actually feeling good about getting rid of everything. I found myself saying "Out with the old - and in with the new!" every half hour or so. I thought about all the extra space I would have for new fun things we could actually use. The extra storage I could have upstairs if I put my comforters, blow up mattresses, etc. downstairs, nice and neatly.

An unexpected benefit however, was that I also started to feel a lot freer emotionally! At the time I had already been working towards simplifying my life a little. I believe the flood was Universe's sign to me that I was heading in the right direction. It was Universe's (or my higher self's) way of telling me to get rid of all my old "crap" in more ways than one.

So if you too are starting to feel overwhelmed by "all your stuff" physically and mentally - it may be time to start getting rid of some of your "crap".

Mentally… slow it down a little bit. Don't accept invitations that you do not really need to attend. Volunteer at the kids school only once or twice a month instead of 4 or 5. Take a ½ hour walk sometime during your day just to have some quiet time and peace to appreciate life a little. Read a book for half an hour. Meditate for 20 minutes.

As for your physical stuff, start today by picking a small drawer or closet you can start to clean out. Make three piles. In the first pile put the stuff you definitely need to keep, in the second pile put the stuff you are definitely throwing out (or better yet throw it directly in a garbage bag) and in the third pile put the stuff you are unsure of.

Now when you have all three piles done, put the stuff you "definitely need" back in the drawer. Look at it and admire it. How clean and organized it is. How accomplished do you feel?

Now…look at the pile of things you were unsure of. Do you really want to mess up that nice clean drawer with that stuff you will never really use? Watch how quickly you will then toss that pile into the garbage bag as well.

I don’t believe life has to be nearly as hectic as we have all made it.

We are so busy trying to get around all of our "stuff" we sometimes forget we have the option to just "get rid of it" and that means mentally as well as physically.

So get started today! Start getting rid of the "crap" you no longer need to make more room for the fun stuff coming your way!

Manifestation Exercise #18 - How To Change A Negative Thought or Habit In As Little As 21 Days

Did you know that you can change a negative core belief in only 21 days? Even if it is a thought you have had for 30 years?

Or that you can create a new positive habit in as little as 21 days that can last a lifetime?

I have always loved that scientific statistic and it is a great exercise to use when learning how to apply the Law of Attraction.

The great part about it is there are so many different things you can use it for.

The first thing to do is to draw or print out a calendar for the month. I found a free one you can use here. I like this particular site because you can also add a personal picture on top that will help inspire you and you do not have to sign up for anything to use the program.

Or if you do not have a printer available you can simply draw up a calendar yourself.

Now decide what is it you want to change or accomplish.

I suggest starting with one thing at a time until the old habit is broken before starting a new one so you do not feel overwhelmed, but if you can handle more than one -- go for it! Just make sure you print up a separate calendar for each idea.

So what is the new habit you would like to create? Do you want to start meditating, taking your vitamins, exercising, eating healthier? Do you want to start getting better organized? Start staying on top of your mail, on top of your house cleaning, on top of things at work, on top of your money more?

Whatever new habit you would like to create MUST be done for 21 days in a row. Remember, if you miss a day you have to start over from the beginning. But having the calendar in front of you is what makes it more fun and gives you a feeling of accomplishment.

For everyday you accomplish your task you mark off the date with a big X. If at anytime you feel like slacking off, repeat to yourself "Don’t Break The Chain!"…"Don’t Break The Chain!" Look at your calendar at all those pretty X's in a row. You don't want to stop now!

You want to see at least 21 of those x's in a row. After 21 days your new behavior has now become a new habit and marking off the x's after that will be just plain fun.

Now what if you want to use it to change an old negative belief?

Use an affirmation! At least 5 times a day for 21 days in a row. Again mark off each day with an "X" when you have done it. Say the affirmation when you first wake up, mid-morning, lunch time, mid-afternoon and before you go to bed. (The time of day doesn't really matter and if you choose to say it even more often than 5 - even better! As long as you do it.)

Here are some examples of affirmations you can use:

If you are feeling negative about money: "Money comes to me effortlessly and easily every day and in every way" or "I am entitled to always have more than enough money simply because IAM"

If you are feeling anxious: "At the core of my being I am always peaceful and calm"

If you are have not been feeling 100% physically: "I am perfect physical health and have never felt better in my life!"

If you want to feel really good overall try this one: "Every day and in every way I am getting better and better" (This one works really great by the way! It covers everything from health, to work, to exercise, to relationships, to creating new habits. With those simple words you are covering the spectrum!)

Of coarse there are tons of other affirmations you can find on the internet if those don't feel right to you.

Make sure you keep your calendar somewhere that you can see it. On your refrigerator, bulletin board at work, or even your bedroom wall so you see it every night and every morning.

So give this simple exercise a try! We all know how fast 21 days goes, especially if you are trying to break a bad habit or get rid of a negative thought you have had for years! 21 days is merely a drop in the bucket.

All I Ever Really Needed To Know I Learned in Kindergarten

I came across this on the web this morning while I was surfing around. I had originally read it years ago and always loved it. It is great food for thought

All I Ever Really Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarten"
Robert Fulgham

Most of what I really need to know about how to live, and what to do, and how to be, I learned in Kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sandbox at nursery school.

These are the things I learned..

Share everything.
Play fair.
Don't hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don't take things that aren't yours.
Say sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
Live a balanced life.

Learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.

Take a nap every afternoon.

When you go out into the world, watch for traffic, hold hands, and stick together.
Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the plastic cup? The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.

Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the plastic cup - they all die. So do we.

And then remember the book about Dick and Jane and the first word you learned, the biggest word of all: LOOK.

Everything you need to know is in there somewhere.
The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation.
Ecology and politics and sane living.

Think of what a better world it would be if we all - the whole world had cookies and milk about 3 o'clock every afternoon and then lay down with our blankets for a nap. Or if we had a basic policy in our nation and other nations to always put things back where we found them and cleaned up our own messes. And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree whole-heartedly. The answers are all in there in those few pararaphs.

Having A Bad Day? Learn To Turn It Around NOW!

We've all had those kind of days. You know the one where the alarm doesn't go off, you stub your toe as you get out of bed, there's no hot water, you're out of coffee, and you just know it is going to be a horrible day.

So now that your day has started like this, how much worse are you going to allow it to get? That's right. I'm asking you what you are going to do about it?

Many people bristle at the thought that they have any responsibility towards it at all. I mean after all "everyone has a bad day once in awhile." You just do your best to get through it, How many times have you thought to yourself "I just wish this day was over already so I could start over again tomorrow."

What a horrible waste of today that would be! You have the ability to turn it around right this moment!

So often we fall into the mistaken belief that "fate" has its own agenda in our lives and that we do not have any control over the way it goes sometimes. To learn how to create the big things you are wanting in your life, you need to start learning how to control the little ones.

If you have a day that starts out badly, it is your job to say "O.K. That's enough! I've already had 3 bad things happen today - that's enough bad things to last me for a week. From here on it - only good comes my way!"

Then take notice of all the small indications that your "luck" is indeed turning around.

For instance, in the past I've had mornings where I've overslept, looked outside to find it was pouring rain and was not going to make me and my son's 5 block walk to school very pleasant, my son informed me that he forgot to complete an assignment that was due that day, I had no milk for my coffee or his breakfast, the dog whined at the thought of having to go out in the rain...whatever the annoyances might have been.

In the old days, I would have taken these things as a horrible "sign" that things were just going to keep being that bad, if not worse the rest of the day. For some reason, like so many other people, I thought that somehow "fate" had dictated this and there was nothing I could do about it except struggle through it.

Then as I read more and learned more about the Law of Attraction, I realized how silly it was to believe that just because a few bad things had happened in the morning that the rest of the day had to be that way too. I realized how "brainwashed" I had unconsciously become that I never stopped to ask myself "Who says? Who says it has to be this way all day? Where did I get this silly idea, and why do I let it play out again and again?"

That's when I started using the saying that I mentioned a few paragraphs above. "Enough already! I'm turning this around now!"

The reason I am dedicating a whole article to this is because I feel it is really important for people to notice if they have these unconscious beliefs themselves. Because unfortunately people can play out this "bad luck thing" for far longer than just one day. I've heard people say "this is the worst week ever, the worst month, the worst year; I've even heard people say it is the worst decade of their lives!

Well what can you expect to happen if you get that belief in your head? The worst year or even decade?!

Once you have that kind of belief in your mind, you can be sure that you are going to look at and experience one bad thing after another. Worse than that, you will completely ignore any good things that happen and deliberately "focus" on only the negative things, just to prove that you are, in fact, correct and that this is indeed the worst possible week, month or year in your life!

It is amazing sometimes how our minds only see what we direct them to. You can have 3 bad things happen and 4 good things, yet you will find yourself only focusing on the bad to prove your own point to yourself and anyone around you who will listen, that you were right all along. But that is such a waste of precious time that you can be creating wonderful experiences in your life.

Maybe you do it for unconscious sympathy from yourself and from others. Maybe the whole "fate" thing was just something you picked up along the way like I had. It doesn't matter which way these thoughts came about. All that matters is that it is time to regain control over your own destiny and decide to turn it around now!

So the next time you feel like your day is "cursed" take notice and consciously decide to turn it around. You are in control here and you decide to put an end to it right now! You decide that a ton of good things are coming your way today to more than make up for the rough start, and more importantly decide that you are going to notice each and every positive one of them.

Before you know it, the positive will far outweigh the negative and you can turn the worst day of your life into the best one ever!

Manifestation Exercise #15 - Learn To Soothe Yourself As You Would A Child

O.K. so you have been around for awhile. You have experienced many of life’s ups and downs and have accumulated a lot of knowledge in the process. You know the difference between right and wrong and the pettiness you sometimes have to endure when dealing with the world. You have a pretty good idea of what works and what doesn’t.

For this exercise I want you to imagine that a child or teenager comes to you for some advice. They really need your expertise to get them through a rough spot. Read each of the following questions and give yourself a minute between each question to come up with a full and honest answer before heading on to the next question. Better yet, write each answer down. You need to really imagine this child is sitting in front of you waiting for your answer.

So what do you tell them to do if they told you their problem was:

1. That someone at school had made fun of them?

2. That the popular kids ignored them?

3. Their boyfriend or girlfriend had broken up with them?

4. They failed a test they studied hard for?

5. They failed a test they didn’t study for?

6. They didn’t win a game that meant a lot to them?

7. They didn’t get a job they really wanted?

8. The person they were dating wasn’t treating them well?

9. They had a friend that gave them nothing but trouble?

10. Someone had said something that really hurt their feelings?

11. They were overweight?

12. They were tired all the time?

13. They had no interest in anything?

14. They were bored?

15. They hated their job?

16. They never had enough money?

17. They were totally stressed out?

18. They felt depressed.

19. They felt overwhelmed?

20. They constantly felt afraid about what was going on in the world?

O.K. now the first question is.. did you cheat? Did you just read through all the questions without giving them any thought? If so…go back and do it again, and THIS time REALLY think about the answers. Don’t worry….I’ll wait.

O.K. Next…really look at your answers. Why? Because I want you to remember them the next time you are having any of these problems and “don’t know how to deal with them.”

If a child were to ask you these questions, you would want them to listen to your advice with all of your heart because you know what would be best for them. However, when we go through these same problems ourselves, we can’t seem to see the forest through our own trees and find ourselves feeling stuck not knowing what to do. When… in fact… we have the answers all along. Believe in your own wisdom and life experience. You are a very intelligent person! More importantly…follow you own advice!

So let’s go back to some of the questions and see what your advice might be.

Someone at school made fun of them.

Wouldn‘t you tell them the only reason others feel the need to make fun of someone else is to cover up their own insecurities? That by putting down others, they are really only trying to falsely build themselves up? Wouldn’t you say that a person who is confident in themselves would never have a need to put down others. That they would be too busy enjoying their own life?

Do you ever remind yourself of this fact if someone has said something hurtful about you?

That their boyfriend or girlfriend broke up with them.

Wouldn’t you tell them that “there are other fish in the sea?” Wouldn’t you point out all of their good qualities and tell them that they were too good for whoever just broke up with them anyway? That the person who left them must be crazy to have left someone as wonderful as them in the first place? If they cry or wail that they will never meet anyone else, don’t you laugh and say with complete confidence that of coarse they will find someone else. Probably a couple of someone else’s, even better for them?

Do you ever remember to soothe yourself with these thoughts when you have lost someone you care about?

They failed a test they did or didn’t study for?

What would your first response be? How about “Don’t worry, you’ll get ‘em next time!” Wouldn’t you point out that it might simply be that the study technique they used the first time wasn’t effective enough? Wouldn’t you try to come up with some new and creative ideas that might make studying more entertaining or fun for them?

Do you give yourself the same creative opportunities when you have failed at something you have tried? Instead of constantly berating yourself, have you ever let yourself just chalk it up to an experience that didn’t’ work and go out and look for a more creative technique that might? You would never tell a child to just give up and not try anymore! Don’t you think you deserve to follow that very sage advice?

They didn’t win a game or get a job they really wanted?

Another place where “Don’t worry, you’ll get ‘em next time!“ fits in perfectly. Wouldn’t you tell them that obviously that job just wasn’t for them and that must mean there is a better one out there? Wouldn’t you tell them not to take it too seriously, it is only a little bump in the road and in the grand scheme of things, just really how important is it?

Do you remember to keep these things in that kind of perspective when you have been faced with disappointment? Do you remember to look at the whole picture and realize that it is simply a little bump in the road and that there will be more opportunities tomorrow?

The person they were dating wasn’t treating them very well or a friend brings nothing but trouble.

This one is pretty much a no-brainer! Wouldn’t your first response be to tell them that they deserve better?! That life is too short to spend it with people who make your life miserable when there are many others out there who will treat them with the respect they deserve?

Do you clearly see yourself deserving that same kind of respect? Just think of the emotion you would feel if a teenager came to you and said the person they were dating wasn’t treating them well. Wouldn’t you feel outraged? Wouldn’t you want to scream at them to find someone else because it would break your heart thinking of them wasting their precious time with someone like that?

Don’t you think you should feel that emotionally charged when it comes to what you deserve? Don’t you think you should be just as outraged if someone is treating you with that kind of disrespect? Think about it.

They were overweight, tired all of the time, have no interest in anything and they are bored?

Your advice would be quick and simple. Get exercise, eat better, take up new hobbies and interests.

‘Nuff said -- Just Do It Already!

They hated their job?

Another quickie -- Change It!

You don’t want to hear all of the silly reasons they are going to try and come up with about why they can’t. You would simply tell them to go out and find one they do like. Again, life is too short. Case closed.

Same goes for you.

They never have enough money.

You would tell them that abundance is all in the mind. That if they constantly think that they don’t have enough then that is what Universe will deliver. If they think “Money is coming to me constantly in all different ways” Universe will respond as well. You would tell them to be creative. Look for unique ideas and ways they could make more. You would tell them to not give up!! You would tell them anything is possible. You would tell them to believe in themselves and all of their possibilities and one day they will have all the money they will ever need.

As I said before…the same goes for you.

They were totally stressed out, felt depressed or overwhelmed?

Isn’t it funny that when a child or teenager comes to you with what they consider to be a “major crisis” we as adults sometimes laugh and say “Wow, I wish that were my biggest problem!“ Did it ever occur to you that there are probably a few million people in the world right now who would feel the same exact way about whatever problems you might be experiencing? Sometimes you simply need to take a step back and get perspective. O.K. money is a little tight this month, but is it really the end of the world? It is much harder to be effective when working from a place of fear or stress.

Slow down and take a break. What would you tell a teenager if they were totally stressed? You would tell them that in the grand scheme of things what they are dealing with is minor. They will get through it and past it and one day it will be a simple memory. You would probably tell them to take time out for themselves. Go relax, read a book, meditate, go for a nature hike and then come back and try to tackle whatever is on their plate from a new perspective.

Seriously think about all the advice you would give them about what to do. Then write it down and remember it for yourself.

They constantly felt afraid about what was going on in the world?

Yes, at first this might seem like a tough one. In my opinion the best advice to give them would be to stop focusing on all the “problems” going on in the world, especially the ones they cannot do anything about.

Stop watching the horror of the news every night, stop reading the papers for awhile. They should focus on increasing their own vibration. They should look for the good that is in the world, the miracles that are happening everyday. They should focus on creating their own peaceful, abundant, spiritual lives.

Just imagine if everyone were to keep that as their main focus. Instead of fighting with others or spreading the fear of all the world’s “problems” if everyone just worked on making their own lives as peaceful and fulfilling as possible - what would be left to fight about?

Stop worrying about what you unable to do for others and work on what you can do for yourself. Peace spreads through people as quickly, if not even more quickly, than fear does. You can only start with you.

The point of this exercise is to soothe yourself as a parent or adult would soothe a child.

Like I said at the beginning of this article, you already have all the answers. You already know exactly what you should do in all of the examples listed above. The only thing that prevents you from using that awesome advice is that silly nagging ego voice in your head that attempts to make mountains out of molehills. The voice that wants to keeps its control over you by attempting to put road blocks in your way all of the time.

So the next time you have a problem you are unsure of how to deal with, imagine that a child or teenager is asking you the same question.

What advice would you give them and how much would you really want them to take it?

Then use it yourself.

Law of Attraction - Sometimes When Life Gets Too Crazy It is Time To "Just Float"

It's funny how sometimes a line from a movie can stick with you practically forever.

Like "Leave the Gun, Take the Cannoli" from The Godfather. My guy friends have sometimes found the strangest circumstances to pull that line out and while I admit it is usually pretty funny, I would never admit it to them. I usually just give them the old eye roll.

One of my favorite lines from a movie and one that I personally use all the time is "Just Float."

I heard it one of my all time favorite holiday movies Home For The Holidays. A great Thanksgiving movie that makes you feel better knowing that you are not the only one who has to deal with the crazy relatives during the holiday season.

The main character is played by Holly Hunter who is having a really bad week.

She loses her job, stupidly kissed her boss, finds out her teenage daughter is planning on having sex for the first time while she will be away, catches a horrible cold and to top it all off has to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with her off-the-wall parents. It is not one of her better weeks.

Just as she is about to completely lose it, her teenage daughter gives her some advice when dropping her at the airport.

She reminds her mother of when they went on a tropical vacation together and went snorkeling. She tells her mother to remember how calm and peaceful it was when they were just gently floating among the beautiful tropical fish without a care in the world. She told her mother to remember that feeling when the world seems to be going crazy around her. "Just Float, Remember to Just Float."

I have used that line myself ever since. When I've just gotten off the phone with a customer service agent who refuses to hear what I am saying or my young son who is also very good at blocking me out, I say to myself "Just Float" When I am fighting with some mechanical device that refuses to cooperate or can't make head or tails of instructions that are supposed to be "so easy a child could do it" I tell myself to "Just Float".

I truly believe that we aren't meant to paddle furiously all of the time. Sometimes it is our job to "Just Float". To remain calm; to rise to the surface. To quietly observe; to gain back our perspective. To remain unaffected as life's waves move gently beneath us, until we catch our breath; until an easier way is presented to us.

So the next time you find yourself paddling upstream to the point where you want to scream take a deep breath, exhale and "Just Float."

It Isn't Good - It Isn't Bad - It Just "Is"

Hi Everyone!

Every once in awhile I come across this great message that always makes me just stop and remember. It usually seems to “appear” in a book or on a website if I am in the middle of a emotion I am trying to soothe myself out of . The message is so simple and clear and I know my life would be infinitely more peaceful if I would just remember it more consistently. The message?

“It isn’t good - it isn’t bad --it just IS!”

Anytime we suffer from what we term a “negative” emotion or situation it is simply considered negative due to some past association with it. I’ve use this example before in some of my posts and articles:

If it is raining out -- is it a good or a bad thing?

To a farmer dealing with a drought it is an awesome thing but to a bride on her wedding day -- not so much.

But the rain itself is not good or bad. It simply IS.

Sometimes Universe (or your higher self, if you prefer) has something greater or bigger in store for us that we might not be able to see in the situation right in front of us.

For example: Maybe the rain on a bride’s wedding day slowed down traffic so an accident that would have involved a family member on dry pavement didn’t happen after all. Talk about which scenario the bride would have preferred more!

The point is, by keeping this message in mind it will help take the emotion out of your current situation. It gives you a chance to take a breath and realize that the world or the Universe is not out to get you; it is simply an event that is happening. How you choose to deal with it or think about it next is up to you.

Can you find something positive in it? Find an underlying reason why it might be happening in your best interest? Is there something you can do to turn whatever is happening into a memorable event?

If you are on a first date and there is a blizzard, instead of worrying about the date being ruined can you turn it into the world’s best snowball fight? If you want to take someone out but do not have the money for an expensive dinner, can you create the world’s most romantic picnic on the beach?

So much of our personal pain occurs when we mistakenly believe something should be one way and it turns out another.

It is not the situation itself that is the problem; just our preconceived notion of what we believe it should be like that is the problem.

By remembering that something “Isn’t good or bad, it just simply IS” we can retrain ourselves to stay in the moment. We can act calmly, think clearly and take the next best step without all of our negative emotion screwing it up and making the situation worse.

So keep this message in mind the next time things don’t go the way you think they “should” go. Tell yourself it just simply “Is” and move on calmly from there. You might be surprised how much easier you get through it.

Manifestation Exercise #8 - Tapping Into Your Higher Self

This exercise is designed to remind you of who you really are. A different kind of meditation technique if you will, to help you get more used to connecting with your Higher Self on a daily basis and to get in touch with the loving, peaceful being that you really are, as opposed to the false identity your ego is trying to convince you that you are. .

It only takes about 5 minutes but the effects can be everlasting.

The first thing you need to do is close your eyes. Now imagine the higher loving part of you takes one giant step backwards out of your body and rises about two feet above you. (as if you were standing at the bottom of a staircase facing forward and there was a person directly on the step above you)

Now envision this absolutely non judgmental being smiles down at the top of your head and puts their hands on your shoulders.

This higher loving self has been with you since the beginning of all time. It absolutely loves you unconditionally. It is never angry with you. It is never critical. It understands every decision you have every made and the reason why you made it.

It laughs at your antics; the funny things you do. It smiles in loving encouragement as you stumble your way through things, having no doubt you will find the solution as soon as you look in the right direction.

This higher being is All That Is. While you may sometimes forget your connection, it never does. It knows every life you have ever lived and every one that you will in the future. It sees the overall picture. While your ego self might not know why you were supposed to meet a particular person today or be in a certain place at a certain time, this higher self knows exactly why. Knows exactly the sequence of events that are going to stem from it that will bring you what you are wanting.

There is nothing for you to ever have to say or do to earn its love and guidance. It is there unconditionally and always. It sees you for the perfection that you are and can be called on at anytime to help remind you of it. It has a greater love for you

than any human on this planet is capable of. It is a love bigger than any parent, child, spouse or partner can give you all combined. You are never alone in this world and will never lack the feeling of being loved when you are reminded that this self is always with you.

Now imagine that this higher being gives your shoulders a gentle loving squeeze before stepping back down and back into your body. A reminder that it is always with you. Within You. It is never floating in the skies above out of reach - never outside of you - but within you always.

Now that it is back inside your body release any other thoughts that might be running through your head and focus on its love. Imagine now that the same being that was behind you a moment ago is now in the back of your head. You can actually feel a tingle when you think about it. It is still smiling, still loving. Always peaceful and calm. You might start to feel the tingle run down the back of your neck or your back as you acknowledge this awesome beings presence. This is you - your true self.

Try this exercise a few times a day the first days that you use it. Eventually you will not need to imagine your higher self stepping in and out. Eventually you will feel the tingle and knowingness in the back of your head always quite naturally.

Eliminate your thoughts and just focus on this loving, all-knowing being back there smiling and encouraging. Silently listen to anything it might tell you. Know it will happily answer all of your questions if you take your ego thoughts away and give it silent space to come in.

Remember that it always sees the bigger picture. It is never worried about silly little things like bills, or work or troubled relationships. It is so big and so knowing that those little things are nothing but a tiny little speck in comparison to how big you really are and this part of you knows it with certainty. It is always peaceful and when you focus on it you can feel the peace and hear the words "That is what you are worried about, you silly thing? We are so much bigger than that."

After awhile you will find that you can call on this feeling at will. The minute any tensions might arise you will learn to immediately go to the back of your head and feel the deep peaceful feeling inside and you too will remember the bigger picture.

My Grateful List - June 2008

I decided this morning as I emptied my awesome dishwasher that it is time again for me to do my grateful list.

If you have studied the Law of Attraction for any length of time you have probably realized that gratefulness and thankfulness are two of the strongest emotions you can use to get into a higher vibrational level for what you are wanting to create in the future.

I started using it on a regular basis anytime I found myself wanting to create something new. Doing the list always raised my vibration and put me in a much better place to attract what I was wanting.

Quite by accident however, I found out that not only does it help bring me what I want easier and faster, it simply made me feel good during and after I did it.

If this is the first time you are hearing of the Grateful List there is an article that explains it in more detail here.

So while there isn’t anything material I am particularly wanting at this moment, I am in the mood for a spiritual boost; so here I go.

1. I am grateful to be alive and give this life thing another shot today. Who knows what surprises are in store for me today?

2. I am SO grateful for my mother’s feeling better. She was in the hospital with pneumonia but is healing perfectly and will be going home today.

3. I am very grateful for my husband, who understands me and works hard so we can live in this awesome place.

4. I am so grateful for my gorgeous, healthy son, who makes me laugh at the same time he is driving me crazy.

5. I am so grateful for my health. I can walk today, talk today, see today, hear today and am completely pain free. What an awesome vehicle I have to help me accomplish whatever I choose to do today.

6. I am grateful for the weather today. It is the first 70 degree day in New York this Spring -- Perfect day to wash down the backyard furniture.

7. I am grateful for my dishwasher. After years of living without one I love how it saves me an hour a day in washing and drying. I love how efficiently it works and the soothing sound of it doing all the work while I sit here peacefully typing this list.

8. I am just as grateful for my washer and dryer in the house. No more quarters! No more lugging my laundry out of the house. I can do my laundry anytime I want - how cool is that?

9. I am grateful for my coffee maker. What an awesome way to start the morning with the smell and taste of that addictive brew and I don‘t even have to leave my house to get it.

10. I am grateful for my wonderful shower with plenty of clean, hot water.

11. I am grateful for water itself. I consider it “liquid health” when I drink it. It makes my body run more efficiently and tastes awesome when it is cold and I am lucky enough to be able to simply turn a tap to get it.

12. I am grateful for the bed I just got out of that gave me a great nights sleep last night on fresh sheets I just put on it yesterday.

13. I am grateful for all the neighbors and friends who have been calling regarding my mother. It’s awesome to know that people care.

14. I am grateful for this computer and the internet. There are so many things I use it for everyday. What did I ever do without it?

15. I am grateful that my son has school today. As much as I enjoy him, I also enjoy the time alone I have to wash the backyard furniture listening to music I like!!!

16. I am grateful for my awesome running truck. I love how comfortable and reliable it is and realize how difficult life could be if I didn’t have it.

17. I am grateful for the electricity in my house today. I can use this computer, run my dishwasher, and my son can watch television before school all at the same time.

18. I am even grateful for occasional blackouts - because they help me to appreciate my electricity when I have it.

19. I am grateful for my cable television and my great working T.V. Over 300 channels! Wow! What did I do in the old days when there was only 7 channels and no remote control?

20. I am grateful for cell phones! I can talk to anyone I need to anytime I need to because they all have cell phones too! How cool is that?

Well, I have reached my spiritual high for today - and also my time limit to get the little one ready for school! Life is just so cool nowadays. There are so many things we have that our relatives and ancestors didn’t have that make life so much easier. I could probably write another 50 things right now effortlessly, but seeing as I am short on time, I will just think about them mentally as I go through the day.

If you would like to experience your own “spiritual high” today I can’t think of a faster way to do it than by doing your own grateful list. It is quick, easy, and costs nothing but a few minutes of your time. But the difference it can make in your mood is incredible.

Until tomorrow….Happy Creating
