Law of Attraction: Easily Create More Money by Changing Your Ideas About It

GOOD Morning Everyone!

I originally wrote this article for Associated Content but don't believe I ever posted it here on my blog. --If I have, please forgive the duplicate :)

I was walking out of the supermarket the other day when I passed two boys, (probably each about 8 years old) standing in front of a machine that sold Collectible trading cards.

I overheard them talking and the first boy said that he really wanted a certain set of Pokemon cards but he didn't have enough money. "How much are they?" The other boy asked. "$5.00" was the response. "$5.00?! Wow!" said the second boy. I didn't think much of it and continued walking until I saw an even younger child up ahead begging their mother for $.50 for a small little plastic toy that was in a gumball machine. The mother said "No. I'm not spending that much money for a little piece of junk." "Why? How much is it?" the child asked. "That's fifty pennies!" the mom answered expressively and I saw the child's eyes and mouth open real wide at the "impressive" amount.

I was still laughing to myself at the child's expression as I started unloading my groceries into my car and thinking how I wished I only needed $.50 or $5.00 to purchase what I've been wanting. What a piece of cake that would be! I could find both of those amounts in my pocketbook right now.

But then it started to dawn on me as I was driving away that maybe it really is all in the perception. What if I started looking at the amount of money that I had been trying to create lately the same way that I looked at the $.50 or the $5.00? Like it was merely a drop in the bucket...a piece of cake?

At what point did I decide that the amount of money that I wanted was an insurmountable amount for me to obtain?

There is an item that I have been focusing on manifesting in my life that is worth almost $10,000. Now it is not an absolute necessity that I own it, but it would make my life a lot more fun if I did.

Because it is not a necessity however, I have been unwilling to spend the money I have in the bank on it. I've been attempting to create it by other means, having it show up in a fun or unexpected way. For some reason though, I have been having a harder time than usual in making this manifestation a reality. It seems like anytime I come close, something else comes along that I need to spend my "extra" money on - or something that I was pretty sure was going to work out, falls through at the last minute.

I was beginning to think that maybe subconsciously I was believing that this item was too much of a luxury for me to spend "that kind of money on" and maybe that was holding me back from manifesting it.

But then while driving I asked myself "But who says $10,000 is a lot of money? When did I come to this conclusion?" I mean if I were a doctor or a lawyer, a movie star or a rock star, Donald Trump or Bill Gates, would I not be looking at $10,000 as a mere drop in the bucket, like I did the $.50 or $5.00? Something I might even have simply sitting in my pocketbook?"

That is when I realized that it was not the item itself that was too extravagant - simply the financial resistance that I put on it.

I mean there are literally trillions of dollars flying over my head electronically every day! Can you imagine how excited the government would be if they only had to come up with $10,000 to get out of debt? How about some of the large businesses that are in financial trouble right now? They would be having the biggest party in the world needing only $10,000!

So why does $10,000 seem an impossible amount for me to reach? It reality, that is not a lot of money. It's just an idea I mistakenly picked up along the way.

So how about you?

What if you were to suspend your own "mis"-beliefs about what constitutes a lot of money? What if you were to realize that with all of the trillions of dollars being spent every moment of every day that the amount that you are wanting to create is a mere bag of shells?

What if instead of asking yourself, "how on earth am I going to come up with that amount of money" you instead told yourself "That's not so much. Of coarse I can figure out a way to come up with that"

Instead of saying to yourself "I'll never be able to afford that" you replaced that with "O.K. Piece of cake - how should I go about getting it?"

Can you see immediately the new vibration you will be putting out there?

The Law of Attraction works by bringing you what you think about. If you think the amount that you are wanting is impossible to obtain - then it will be. If you turn it around and think of it being as simple as finding $.50 in your pocket - then it will be.

So give it a try. Anytime you start thinking that something is "too expensive" or "unattainable" ask yourself why. "Why do I think that? Where did I get that idea? Compared to all the money out there - this is such a miniscule amount."

As for me, I now realize that my $10,000 manifestation is right around the corner. I can feel the familiar thrill-chills of excitement of this new breakthrough which in the past has meant that it's even closer than I think.

Inspiring Law of Attraction Movies and DVDs

Morning All!

I received an email yesterday from a reader who asked if there was any Law of Attraction movies or DVDs I would personally recommend and I realized that I had not yet written a post on the subject, so here it is.

There are actually quite a few I would recommend that I have watched many times over and have found to be extremely inspirational.

Some of them (the more instructional ones) I will even put on just for background noise while I am working or cleaning the house so I can absorb the messages consciously as well as subconsciously. (Hey every little bit helps!)

Of the following list, I personally own eight that I use often. The others are movies and dvds I have heard about, but have not yet had the opportunity to see.

The Secret

Office Map Most of you have probably either heard, have seen or even own this movie already. I find it inspiring as background noise, but in truth I think it just barely scratches the surface of how the Law of Attraction really works. This is the perfect movie for beginners to introduce themselves to the subject, and it is also great if you want a quick inspirational pick-me-up, but it really is only step one in actually applying the process and getting it to work for you.

What The Bleep Do We Know

Office Map This is another good one I enjoy. It goes a little further in depth of the subject and there are some interesting points they make about energy from a scientific point of view. One of my favorite parts is when they explain how your brain gets used to make automatic connections and the process you need to change those auto responses so your brain begins to make new connections.

Down the Rabbit Hole

Office Map This is a follow up to What The Bleep and another inspirational one. After you have seen it once or twice there is no real need to actually watch the movie, but like the two movies listed above it makes for great background noise if you want to remain on a spiritual high as often as possible during your day. It is simple constant inspiration through repetition.

Movies to Sit Down With Popcorn to Watch

The following are movies based on best selling novels (all of which I own) told in a story/movie format. I've enjoyed both the books and the movies immensely.

The Celestine Prophecy

Office Map The Celestine Prophecy is an action-adventure adaptation of the hit novel by James Redfield. Matthew Settle plays an American history teacher who travels to Peru to look into the discovery of an ancient manuscript that foretells the arrival of a new spirituality. The Peruvian government and Catholic church, threatened by something that might supplant traditional religion and mainstream values, harass and arrest the scientists and enlightened souls who discovered the manuscript. Our hero becomes involved in a dangerous effort to keep the document from official hands; along the way, he's introduced to the prophecy's major principles, which arouse his dormant spiritual abilities.

The Peaceful Warrior

Office Map An inspirational and triumphant film about the power of the human spirit, Peaceful Warrior is the incredible true story based on Dan Millman's bestselling novel. A gifted young athlete, bound for Olympic gold, Dan has it all: trophies, talent, and all the women he wants. But after a life-changing event, Dan comes to rely on Socrates (Nick Nolte), a mysterious stranger, and Joy (Amy Smart), an elusive young woman, to teach him the secret to overcome incredible odds and tap into new worlds of strength and understanding. Hailed by celebrities and critics alike, Peaceful Warrior is "an inspiring film that could change lives."

Conversations With God

Office Map Based on Neale Donald Walsch's best-selling, acclaimed trilogy comes a film you won't want to miss! Starring Henry Czerny and Frances Fishers, Conversations with God is an entertaining yet practical exploration of perhaps the most spiritual experience a person can have, regardless of their faith. See why everyone is talking about this exciting, empowering film!

The next few DVDs are in The Secret type of format. Inspirational and well known speakers discuss all different ideas of how to apply the law of attraction. They have created quite a stir in the online community. Speakers include Joe Vitale, T. Harv Eckart, Jack Canfield and many more. I have not yet had the pleasure of seeing these for myself yet, but they are definitely on my future list of must-sees.

The Opus

The Compass

Leap

Try It On Everything!

Office Map I have written before on the power of EFT (The Emotional Freedom Technique). It is a tapping process I have used for years to help cure or fix just about anything! Try It On Everything! is an awesome movie that shows 10 people from around the country with a variety of challenges, such as Post-traumatic stress disorder, chronic back pain, fear of public speaking, Fibromyalgia, abundance blocks, weight loss, smoking and more. You'll follow their journey as they learn Tapping (and you do as well) and then dive deeper into the keys to changing your life.

The movie teaches you about releasing pain, how your emotions affect your body, releasing trauma, how your childhood is affecting you today, how to clear limiting beliefs, using Tapping to make the Law of Attraction work for you, and much more!

(The desciption above was taken mostly from the website because it pretty much says it all. I do however, personally recommend that everyone learn this life changing process. You will be truly amazed at the wonders it will work for you!)

Abraham-Hicks Collection

I am admittedly biased towards everything Abraham as most of you probably know. Luckily Abraham-Hicks has now come out with a great set of DVDs that send out the most clear and inspirational messages of almost any spiritual teacher that exists toay.

The list of these DVDs are listed below:

Office MapAbraham-Hicks Special Subjects DVD 10 - Money & Manifestation

Office MapAbraham-Hicks Special Subjects DVD 11 - Relationships & Cocreation

Office MapAbraham-Hicks Special Subjects DVD 9 - Health & Well-Being

There are almost 50 different Abraham-Hicks DVD items at Amazon! Simply click on the movies category and type in Abraham-hicks in the search box you can find here.

I am sure there are also probably tons more inspirational Movies and DVDs out there. If you know of any that you recommend that I haven't mentioned here, please feel free to email me and I will include them on the list.

Kyle's Story

Good Morning Everyone!

There is a good chance you might have seen this story already floating around on the internet, because it is such a touching one.

Unfortunately I do not know the original author of the piece to give due credit, but I am hoping that by its popularity alone the author realizes how many people this story has touched.

I'm publishing it here today because to me it is a reminder that:

-- there are no such things as coincidences
-- that we are always exactly where we should be at exactly the right time
-- that when we desperately ask for help - universe will deliver it in the strangest and most touching of ways
-- and lastly that we will all always have the common inner higher connection to each other because we are all an equal part of the one.

Enjoy!

One day, when I was a freshman in high school,
I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school.

His name was Kyle.

It looked like he was carrying all of his books.
I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday?
He must really be a nerd."

I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.

As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt.
His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him.

He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye.

As I handed him his glasses, I said, "Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives."

He looked at me and said, "Hey thanks!"

There was a big smile on his face.

It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.

I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before.

He said he had gone to private school before now.

I would have never hung out with a private school kid before.
We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books.
He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends. He said yes.

We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him.

Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again.
I stopped him and said, "Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!"

He just laughed and handed me half the books.
Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends.

When we were seniors we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem.

He was going to be a doctor and I was going for business on a football scholarship..

Kyle was valedictorian of our class.
I teased him all the time about being a nerd.
He had to prepare a speech for graduation.
I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak
Graduation day.

I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous!

Today was one of those days.

I could see that he was nervous about his speech.
So, I smacked him on the back and said, "Hey, big guy, you'll be great!"

He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled.
"Thanks," he said.

As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began

"Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends....

I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story."

I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the first day we met.

He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home.

He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile.
"Thankfully, I was saved... My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable.."

I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment.

I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile.
Not until that moment did I realize it ' s depth.

Never underestimate the power of your actions..
With one small gesture you can change a person ' s life.
For better or for worse.

God puts us all in each others lives to impact one another in some way.

Look for God in others.

*********

I get chills every time I read this story. It has an incredible message on so many levels.

Cute Story

I came across this cute story the other day. Unfortunately I'm not sure where it came from so I can't give it due credit -- but I thought it was good for a little chuckle. It is about the difference between being an optimist and a pessimist.

A family had twin boys whose only resemblance to each other was their looks. If one felt it was too hot, the other thought it was too cold. If one said the TV was too loud, the other claimed the volume needed to be turned up. Opposite in every way, one was an eternal optimist, the other a doom and gloom pessimist.
Just to see what would happen, at Christmas time their father loaded the pessimist's room with every imaginable toy and game. The optimist's room he loaded with horse manure.

That night the father passed by the pessimist's room and found him sitting amid his new gifts crying bitterly.

"Why are you crying?" the father asked.

"Because my friends will be jealous, I'll have to read all these instructions before I can do anything with this stuff, I'll constantly need batteries, and my toys will eventually get broken." answered the pessimist twin.

Passing the optimist twin's room, the father found him dancing for joy in the pile of manure. "What are you so happy about?" he asked.

To which his optimist twin replied, "There's got to be a pony in here somewhere!"

Back In Feasting Mode

I just came across an awesome quote from Abraham-Hicks on abrahamappreciators.com. It is about synchronicity and states:

Abraham-Hicks: "There are 20 or 30 viable rendezvous points in every day
for everything you want. And the better you feel, the more you line up
with them. The worse you feel, the more you zig while they zag. So what does that stir within you? Now you say, "Oh, oh, is it you, is it you, is it YOU?" It makes you sort of nutty! Now we want you to understand your work is not to make it happen. Your work is to LET it happen." San Rafael, CA 7/30/06

I absolutely love the idea that there are at least 20 or 30 rendezvous points each day to attract what you want. It means there really isn't such a thing as a missed opportunity because like a bus at a bus stop - another will be along any minute as long as you are vibrating at the right level.

Anyway....

I seem to be back in "feasting" mode and I am thrilled! I've posted here before how I sometimes go through a feast or famine stage when it comes to studying new ideas and viewpoints about the law of attraction. There are times when I am reading 4 books on the subject simultaneously to times where I have absolutely no interest in studying it at all.

I used to worry about this until I realized that each time I "lost interest" it was simply because I was taking in too much new information all at once and I needed time to "absorb it all."

Then a few months down the line I again suddenly get the urge to read everything I can get my hands on, but with a much deeper understanding than I had before.

Well I am happy to say I am back in the Feasting Stage. I went to the public library and took out 4 "new" Law of Attraction Books.

I figured as long as I was reading them anyway, I would start writing reviews and some of the highlights each one contains here at my blog. The "new" books (well, new to me anyway) are:

Feel It Real! by Denise Coates
Harmonic Wealth by James Arthur Ray
Excuse Me, Your Life Is Waiting by Lynn Grabhorn
The Astonishing Power of Emotions by Abraham-Hicks

So be sure to come back and visit often. I will have them under the category of LOA Book Reviews & Highlights.
